I love to get lost in a good book, especially ones that challenge and allow you to escape into another world!
Where do I begin? Maybe with the fact that reading is my addiction. This story provided something way above a book buzz. This is the kind of book you dream of reaching for when you know there has got to be something good to read in the enormous TBR stash we all suffer.
Ella Frank's writing again has captured me. From the second page, the title of the book made sense, yet. I still was unsure of all that was occurring. The chapters alternate between the past and present as well as alternate POV. Normally this would initially irritate me. Not this time, it fed my desire to know more.
Right from the start, the plot as it is revealed takes on the resemblance of puzzle pieces coming together seamlessly. In my mind, I have it worked out, then slowly the pieces tessellate and the plot twists ever so slightly, to take on another shape that I hadn't considered.
What. I enjoyed about this book:
Emotional without being gut-wrenching
The history lessons
The letting go
What I struggled with:
Putting it down
This is a stand out book that I will add more to the review if I don't forget.
