Callie & Seth have secrets that they share with each other, the trust they have helps them to get through first year at college. Hiding behind a butchered hair cut, a get up that screams 'leave me alone' and an attitude to match, helped Callie the to exist, up until now. Seth has encouraged her to let go of the barriers she has put in place to bring her back into the world she has shut out for so long. Callie gives Seth respect and courage providing a basis for a strong friendship. Both long to live life to the fullest, inspite of their individual pasts and create a 'to do list' to help them achieve this.
A story of people that have had to live with past atrocities and the coping mechanisms that have kept their pain at bay thus far, now needing to face up to their issues head on, in an attempt to be able to live life again. Not all doom and gloom, lots of sweet, fun moments make this book an easy light read, considering the difficult subject matter. Written with POVs from the main characters, smoothly moving between the different characters providing a well balanced insight to the story. It does finish on a cliff hanger, but have the feeling that all will be OK. looking forward to the next 2 books to be released in this series!
