I started off really wanting to get into this book, but by 65% in, I had to just skim through to finish it. The story line (even before skimming) seemed to jump between detailed moments to suddenly being days down the track. Constantly being reminded of Trace's troubles, it's not until the story is quite a way in that the essence of his darkness is revealed. When I read a mystery, I like to try and sleuth it out as the story progresses, but I found the scant details prevented any guess work. This story had a lot of potential, there could have been an opportunity to focus on the secondary characters and utilise them to bring out more of the plot. Disappointed not to have enjoyed this more, but it seams that you ether love this book or not.
